Elberton Police Dept. Police Explorer Program Meets next Thursday

November 8, 2013

Elbert County youth that are still interested in participating in the Elberton Police Department’s Police Explorer program, still have time to sign up.

The first Explorer meeting is scheduled for Thursday November 14th at 7:00pm.

The meeting will be held at Elberton City Hall.

Sergeant Macon Clark is heading up the program this year, and says this first meeting is just an informative one.

“Its going to be just to introduce everyone to the program, and to go over with the parents and participants to give them an idea of what we will be doing this year with the program”, said Clark.

He says if a young person is still interested in participating, that they can sign up during the meeting.

“Just remember to come out, and we will have the applications there if they want to sign up at the meeting”, explained Clark. “They don’t have to have an application already filled out to come and attend the meeting.”

In order to participate in the program, youth must be between the ages of 14-21 and must have completed the eighth grade.
