Elberton Police Looking for a Man on Theft by Receiving Charges

Elberton Police Investigators are looking for a man who is wanted on two counts of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and numerous Traffic charges.

According to Chief Investigator for the Elberton Police Department Mike Seymour, the man, who is identified as 26 year old Quanathan “Nate” Billings, eluded police after a routine traffic stop.

“While conducting a follow up investigation on recent thefts in the area of Gordon Street, officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Billings”, explained Seymour. “He attempted to elude the officer’s stop and fled from the vehicle, and subsequently some stolen items were recovered from the truck that he and Michael Lynn Austin were driving.”

Austin is currently in custody at the Elbert County Detention Center. Elberton Police are requesting the publics help in locating Billings. If anyone has any information to Billings’s whereabouts, you can contact 9-1-1 in an emergency situation or (706) 213-3130.
