Elberton Police Investigators are still looking for three suspects who are wanted in connection with a theft by taking that occurred at the Marathon Gas Station off of Elbert Street back on August 24th.

Investigator Scott Marunich with the Elberton Police Department describes how the crime actually took place.

“Two individuals came in and distracted the manager and clerk. The first suspect to the manager outside to complain about the gas pumps, and the second individual pulled the clerk to the beer cooler and was asking the differences between certain alcohols”, described Investigator Marunich. “A third individual went in and removed cash from the office, and then fled the scene soon after.”

Investigators are still reviewing surveillance footage, and are continuing to interview witnesses who were at the scene the day of the incident.

Anyone who may have any information on the case can contact the Elberton Police Department at (706) 213-3130.
