Elberton Sister City Getting Ready for Second Fundraiser Tomorrow

July 26, 2013

Local motorcycle dealer A & D Cycles will be busy again this weekend, hosting yet another local fundraising event.

Tomorrow, the Elberton Sister City program will be holding its second Burger for Bucks fundraiser.

Sister City Chairman Tom Evans says all funds raised go to benefit the program.

“The funds do go to support the Elberton Sister City Exchange”, said Evans. “This year during the fundraiser we are going to have the six exchange students who arrived earlier this week, and they are going to participate in the event.”

The Elbert County students recently returned from their two week stay in Japan, and Evans said it was a crazy, but fast two weeks.

“It was such a whirlwind two week trip, and it is probably going to take them about another week to fully absorb all the interesting things that they took in over there”, said Evans.

The fundraiser will run from 11:00am until 1:00pm in the A & D Cycles parking lot.

Cost per bag lunch will be six dollars, and included in that cost will be a burger, chips, drink, and a dessert.

Tickets can be purchased from any Sister City Committee Member, 2013 Exchange Students, or at Elberton City Hall.
