Elberton Square to Host First Ever FAD Fest on Saturday

April 23, 2013

The first ever FAD Fest is coming to Elberton’s Downtown Square this Saturday, April 27th.

This weekend is already shaping up to be chalk full of events just like this past weekend.

FAD (Fine Arts Department) Fest is presented by the Elbert County School District, and Main Street Director Sissie Herring says it’s a showcase for the school system’s artists.

“What will happen is that high school and middle school bands, choruses, and artwork from several schools in the district will be on showcase on the square”, said Herring. “This is something new for us, and we are thrilled they are coming to the square, and I think this is going to be a great event.”

The best part is that there is absolutely no cost involved to attend the event says Herring.

“There is no cost to show up”, said Herring. “These are the young people in our community so come out and support them.”

The festivities for the first ever FAD Fest are expected to get underway at 10:00am and should last until 12:30pm.

For more information you can contact Elberton City Hall at (706) 213-3100 and ask for Sissie Herring.
