Elberton Woman Arrested on Drug Distribution Charges

An Elberton woman was arrested Friday on drug related charges.

Elbert County Sheriff Barry Haston said in a press release that an ongoing investigation let to a traffic stop on Friday after surveillance was being conducted by investigators.

The woman, identified as 39-year old Kathy A. Vickery of a Sunset Drive address, was arrested on charges of Possession of Schedule 2 drugs with Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Violate the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

During the stop, Vickery was found to be in possession of Oxycodone tablets. Sheriff Haston advised that this arrest had been part of an ongoing investigation that has lasted several months.

Vickery has been released on bond after a bond hearing before an Elbert County Magistrate Judge.
