Today is Election Day for the Run-Off between Doug Collins and Martha Zoller, both of which are running for the Republican Nomination for Georgia’s 9th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Polls will open at 7:00am, and will stay open until 7:00pm this evening. In order to vote in the run-off, voters will have to cast their ballots at their assigned precincts throughout the county.
Elbert County Probate Judge Susan Sexton urged everyone to get out and vote, and that since this is a run-off, voters won’t be spending a lot of time at the polls today.
“Make sure you take a picture ID. It will only take a few minutes to vote, because there is only one office on the ballot. That’s it.” she said.
Sexton said that only those who voted a Republican ballot, non-partisan ballot, or didn’t vote at all will be able to participate in this run-off.
The winner between Doug Collins and Martha Zoller will face Democratic candidate Jody Cooley in November’s General Election.
