It’s Election Day for the primary run-offs in Georgia.
At the end of early voting on Friday, the Elbert County Registrar’s Office reported a total of 225 people had cast in person early votes, and that 64 mailed in absentee ballots had been received, resulting in a grand total of 289 early votes.
There are no local races taking place during the run-offs, but on the republican side, there is a pair of state races to consider.
The first is for United States Senate between Jack Kingston and David Perdue; the other is for State School Superintendent, which is between Michael Buck and Richard Woods.
Only one state race is on the democratic runoff ballot, and that is also for State School Superintendent between Alisha Morgan and Valarie Wilson.
Secretary of State Brian Kemp says remember if you voted republican in the primary you have to vote republican in the run-off.
Same goes if you voted democrat.
Those voting today will do so at their respective voter precincts, and will have to provide photo identification.
Polls open at 7:00am and will stay open until 7:00pm.
If you have any questions about the voting process or where your voter precinct is, you can contact the Elbert County Registrar’s Office at (706) 283-2012.
