Everything Still on Track for New ER Service Provider to Take Over at EMH

After over a decade of providing Emergency Room service at Elbert Memorial Hospital, EmCare’s contract with the hospital will be ending in just over a month.

According to Elbert Memorial Hospital CEO Jim Yarborough, everything is still on track for Hospital MD Leaders take over the hospital’s emergency department.

That transition will take place on May 1st, 2014, Yarborough said to the hospital authority board.

He says that the hospital is really looking forward to getting a fresh start, and hopefully providing a better product to the citizens of Elbert County.

“We will have all new doctors in our emergency department, and we are very excited about a change with an opportunity to get a fresh start”, said Yarborough. “We have a high expectations of an improved quality patient experience when the come to the emergency department.”

Members from Hospital MD have been on site at Elbert Memorial since early March preparing for the May 1st transition.

Current service provider, EmCare has been the emergency department service provider since 2002.
