The Friends Helping Friends (FHF) club is shaking things up a bit when it comes to a pair of huge fundraisers coming up fairly soon.
Over the previous two years, the FHF club held its Jam Fest and Taste of Elberton event in conjunction with the FHF pageant.
That’s not the case this year, as the Jam Fest and Taste of Elberton event will be help roughly a month ahead of the pageant.
The Taste of Elberton will feature several local restaurants says FHF Club Advisor Chrystal Thomas.
“Such as Blazers (providing wings), we’re going to have Oven on the Square, as well as a few more such as McIntosh Coffee Shop and different ones will be there”, said Thomas. “People will be able to go into the cafeteria and browse around and sample their food that evening.”
Following the food festivities, an inspirational concert follows, which will feature the Amplify Youth Praise Band, DRBC Souled Out Youth, Gary Purvis and Family, White’s Chapel Praise Dancers, and the headlining action Souljahs of the Cross.
Thomas says this event is open to the public, and there is no registration fee or admission required to attend, but that the club will be taking donations.
“Its all based on donations, we’re not going to charge admission. People just come in and donate money if they come through, and we will have a bucket to pass around or collect donations at the door”, said Thomas.
The Taste of Elberton will be held on March 8th beginning at 5:00pm in the Elbert County Middle School cafeteria, followed by the concert, which will be held at 7:00pm in the auditorium.
