Final Early Vote Numbers are in for Elbert County

Early voting in Elbert County and in the State of Georgia is complete, and the local turnout has been very strong.

Back in 2008 the early voting period was 45 days long, and in that 45 day window there were 4,406 total walk in early voters. Fast forward to 2012, where the early voting period is only 21 days long, and the turnout was equally as strong. There were 4,321 total walk in early voters in the 21 day window.

Add in the 456 paper absentee ballots mailed in, and the grand total for the 2012 Early Vote period is 4,777.

Polls are closed today, but will open up at 7:00am tomorrow, November 6th. Polls will be open all day until 7:00pm that evening. Voters who wish to cast their ballot will have to vote at their assigned precinct.
