July 1, 2013

The end of an era as former University of Georgia President Michael Adams delivered his final address as UGA president.

On Friday, Adams released his final video address to the UGA faithful; in his video he showed is appreciation for the opportunity he was given.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity that was given to me to serve in this capacity for this long, for the opportunity to work with four governor’s and five chancellors, and particularly for the life long relationships we’ve been able to build at the University of Georgia”, expressed Adams.

He says one of the things that will stick with him the most, will be his interactions with what he called, “one of the greatest student bodies in America”.

“Students know whether or not you care about them, whether or not if you are there to serve them, and you communicate that feeling”, said Adams. “Some of my happiest days have been the days when I have been able to spend time with what I consider one of the greatest student bodies in America.”

Adams closed out his last address by once more thanking the faculty, staff, and students from the University of Georgia.

Stepping in for Adams beginning today, will be former UGA Provost Jere Morehead.
