After an intense two-day search, Franklin County Sheriff’s investigators arrested the four Franklin County teenagers accused in a home invasion and shooting on Wednesday.
Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas said the four donned masks and broke into the home of an elderly man near Victoria Bryant State Park on Monday afternoon and demanded money.
“The owner of the house was shot during the robbery,” Thomas said. “He was shot in the shoulder. The three males exited the house and left the scene.”
Investigators recovered some of the stolen items, including the victim’s wallet, at various scenes and that led them to the suspects, according to Thomas.
“Investigators worked all day and the past two nights, as well as all day Wednesday doing interviews, securing search warrants, and collecting evidence,” Thomas said. “As a result, we arrested four individuals for this assault and robbery.”
Arrested early Wednesday were 17 year old Lindsay Kaitlyn Ray of Royston, whom Thomas said allegedly bought the masks used in the home invasion; 17-year old Emmanuel David Thorton, also of Royston and a 16-year old juvenile.
The search continued for the fourth suspect, 18-year old Keibron Brock of Lavonia.
Thomas said Brock was suspected to be the shooter and was captured late Wednesday afternoon in Carnesville.
“He had made some contact with investigators about what had happened and wanted to turn himself in, but they found him and arrested him and took him to jail,” Thomas said.
All four are charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery. The 16-year old will be charged as a juvenile. Thomas said the juvenile was taken to the Youth Detention Center in Dallas, Ga.
The other three remain in the Franklin County Detention Center awaiting their first hearing. Meantime, Thomas said the victim, who is in his 70s, continues to recover from his injury at home.
