Gas Prices on Par With Last Year’s Memorial Day Weekend Prices

Gas prices continued to remain relatively stable as millions of Americans hit the road for the Memorial Day weekend, according to the latest fuel prices brief from AAA South.

Overall, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline during the Memorial Day holiday weekend was $3.64, 2 cents less than last year’s holiday average of $3.66.

The holiday weekend average for a gallon of gas in the Southeast was $3.42, the exact same as last year.

The national average price of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.63, 2 cents less than last week.

Georgia’s average of $3.47 increased 2 cents from last week.

In Elbert County, the low retail price for gasoline is $3.29; in Wilkes County retail gas is holding steady at $3.33; and in Lincoln County, the price is right on par with the price in Elbert County at $3.29.
