GDOT Continues Routine Maintenance in Elbert and Surrounding Counties

Routine maintenance by the Georgia Department of Transportation continues today in Elbert, Franklin, Hart, and Madison Counties.

In Elbert County, work will continue on State Route 72 where crews will be filling in cracks on the road. A lane closure will be required for this work.

Mowing and vegetation clearing will be taking place in Franklin County along the interstate; and along State Route 77, 17, and 181 in Hart County. Finally, in Madison County crews will clean and hand sweep State Route 8.

Work will last all this week as long as the weather permits. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
