Georgia Boat Owners Encouraged to Renew Registration

October 10, 2013

Georgia boat owners who currently have expired registrations, might not want to hold out too much longer before renewing.

On October 24th, a new state law goes into effect that would add a ten dollar late fee for registration renewals that occur after expiration.

Boat registrations are good for three years, and expire on the last day of the owner’s birth month in the third year of registration.

If you are a boat owner that currently has an expired registration or soon to be expired registration, you can renew by mail, via the Internet, or by telephone.

Those wishing to renew over the phone can dial 1-800-366-2661; or if going the online route, visit the online sales section at www.goboatgeorgia.com/boating/registration.
