Georgia Department of Transportation back at Work this Week

Routine maintenance resumes this week in Elbert and surrounding counties announces the Georgia Department of Transportation.

In Elbert County a crew will service the driveways that intersect with State Routes 72, 17, and 79 West.

More work on Interstate-85 will take place in Franklin County as crews will seal cracks, that work will require lane closures.

In Hart County, a crew will seal cracks in the driving surface of State Route 51, that work will require a lane closure. Also, another crew will rebuild the shoulder alongside State Route 77 connector, a lane and shoulder closure will be in effect for that work.

Finally, in Madison County, crews will rebuild and repair the shoulders and slopes alongside State Routes 98, 8, 172, 72, 106. Lane closures will be in place for that work.

Maintenance activities will continue all this week up until Friday, April 11th.

Work hours will be from 7:00am until 5:30pm, as long as weather permits.

Georgia DOT officials ask that motorists reduce speed, use extra caution, and be alert to changing traffic conditions through these and all work zones.
