The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is offering women interested in learning more about the outdoors, the opportunity to do so.
Becoming an Outdoors Woman is the name of the program, which is a non-profit educational experience that offers hands on workshops to women of all ages and fitness levels.
Georgia DNR Spokesperson Melissa Cummings says the program really helps introduce women to a variety of outdoor activities.
“Activities such as hunting, fishing, outdoor living, camping, and orienteering”, said Cummings. “It provides them a real easy introduction to all these different activities.”
She also mentions that the learning environment is designed to be very comfortable for those attending.
“Its all women at the event, so you are in a group that is comfortable and supportive; so it is different than trying to find that information from maybe somewhere else”, said Cummings.
The workshop is scheduled to take place November 8-10th at the Georgia DNR’s Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center, which is located in Mansfield, GA.
