Georgia DOT Annoucnes Maintenance Plans for Elbert and Surrounding Counties

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces maintenance plans for this week in Elbert, Hart, Madison, and Oconee Counties.

Work begins at 7:00am until 5:30pm beginning today and lasting until Friday, February 22nd, as long as weather permits.

In Elbert County, driveways will be serviced on State Routes 17 and 72. Faded striping on State Route 77 will be restriped; a lane closure will be in place for that work.

In Hart County, asphalt patching will occur on State Routes 8 and 51; a lane closure will be in place there as well. Driveways along State Route 172 will be serviced and vegetation along State Route 51 will be trimmed.

In Madison County, hand sweeping of the intersections on State Routes 106, 98, and 174 will continue.

Finally in Oconee County, inspection and repairs of drainage pipe along and under State Route 10 Business and State Route 10 will occur.

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
