Georgia DOT Announces Routine Work in Elbert, Lincoln, and Wilkes Counties

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces work taking place this week in Lincoln and Wilkes Counties.

In Lincoln County, crews will continue to perform roadway shoulder maintenance to reclaim right of way, and litter pick up on State Route 79.

In Wilkes County, roadway shoulder maintenance to reclaim right of way will continue as well on State Route 10.

Work begins at 8:00am and ends at 4:00pm each day until Thursday, February 28th.


Along with the work taking place in Lincoln and Wilkes Counties, the Georgia DOT will be performing routine maintenance in Elbert and surrounding counties.

In Elbert County, DOT crews will clean under bridges on State Routes 72, 77, 17, and 368.

Crews in Hart County will service driveways along State Route 72 and 172, and will remove dead and fallen trees along State Route 8.

Finally, in Madison County, the hand sweeping of intersections on State Route 98 will take place, and damaged asphalt will be patched on State Route 72.

Work begins at 7:00am and lasts until 5:30pm each day until Friday, March 1st.

Motorists should reduce speed, use extra caution, and be alert to changing traffic conditions in these and all work zones encountered.
