Georgia DOT Announces Work in Elbert and Madison Counties

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces routine maintenance activities planned for this week in Elbert and Madison Counties.

Work will begin on Tuesday, October 9 through Friday, October 12 weather permitting.  If emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.

In Elbert County a crew will re-stripe faded sections of SR 17, lane closures will be required as crews work; while another crew fills cracks in the driving surface of SR 72, and lane closures will be required as crews work. And in Madison County a crew will repair a damaged drainage pipe on SR 98, while SR 72 gets asphalt patched. Also, edge ruts will be repaired on SR 106 and faded striping will be re-striped on US 29/SR 8

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
