Georgia DOT Continues Routine Maintenance in Elbert and Surrounding Counties

September 24, 2013

Work continues this week by the Georgia Department of Transportation in Elbert and surrounding counties.

Routine maintenance activities taking place in Elbert County this week include the mowing and removal of vegetation from DOT rights of way along State Routes 17 and 77.

The same work is taking place in Hart County on State Route 51, in Franklin County along State Routes 59 and 63, and in Stephens County along State Routes 17 and 145.

In Madison County, DOT crews will be repairing a drainage pipe that lies underneath State Route 191, so motorists traveling through the area can expect a lane closure to be in effect while that work takes place.

Work takes place in all these areas all week until Friday September 27th at 5:30pm, as long as weather permits.

Motorists traveling through these areas should reduce their speed, use extra caution, and be alert to changing traffic conditions.
