Routine maintenance activities continue today and throughout the week in Elbert and surrounding counties by crews with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
In Elbert County, DOT crews will service the driveways that intersect with State Route 17, while another crew will restripe faded pavement markings on State Route 17 and State Route 72, a lane closure is required as this work occurs.
Crews in Franklin County will be inspecting the drainage structures for State Routes 59, 51, and 106.
In Hart County, a crew will inspect the drainage structures and repair the rutting that has developed at the edge of the pavement for State Routes 172 and 17; and in Madison County, vegetation trimming will take place in the rights of way alongside State Route 8/US 29.
Crews will work today from 7:00am until 5:30pm all through this week until Friday, February 28th, as long as weather permits.
Georgia DOT asks motorists traveling through these areas to reduce speed, use extra caution, and be alert to changing traffic conditions.
