Georgia DOT Crews Back to Work in NE GA for Routine Maintenance

3-13-2014 GDOTThe Georgia Department of Transportation announces the return of routine maintenance activities in Elbert and surrounding counties this week.

Elbert – A crew will trim vegetation growing alongside SR 77 and SR 72. This work requires the shoulders to be closed. Another crew will restripe faded pavement markings at the SR 17 and SR 72 interchange.

Franklin – A crew will mow the shoulders and slopes alongside SR 51 and SR 145. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Hart –A crew will clean and restore ditches alongside SR 77 Spur, SR 8, SR 181 and SR 77. Another crew will rebuild the shoulders alongside SR 17. Work will close the shoulder and one lane.

Madison – A crew will clean spray overgrown vegetation with herbicide alongside SR 8 and SR 106. A lane and the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Work hours are 7:00am until 5:30pm each day until Friday, August 1st, as long as weather permits.

Georgia DOT Officials encourage anyone traveling through these or any work zones to reduce speed, use extra caution, and as always, be alert to changing traffic conditions.
