Georgia DOT Crews Perform Routine Maintenance Activities

March 24, 2014

3-13-2014 GDOTGeorgia Department of Transportation crews are back at it again in Elbert and surrounding counties for some more routine maintenance activities.

In Elbert County, more driveways will be serviced, including ones that intersect with State Route 17 and State Route 72 West.

In Franklin County, cracks on Interstate 85 will be sealed, and a lane closure can be expected to be in place while work on that project occurs.

Crews in Hart County will restore the ditches alongside State Route 51; and in Madison County, one crew will trim the vegetation in the rights of way on State Route 8/US 29, while another crew will repair the driving surface of the State Route 72 bridge over the Broad River.

Crews will work all this week between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm up until Friday, March 28th, as long as the weather cooperates.

The Georgia DOT strongly encourages motorists to slow down through every work zone they encounter while traveling.
