Routine maintenance continues this week by crews with the Georgia Department of Transportation in Elbert and surrounding counties.
In Elbert County, most maintenance work will take place on State Route 17 as crews will continue to service driveways that intersect with the major highway, and work will also take place to repair some damaged guardrails.
Crews in Hart County will clean and restore the ditches alongside State Route 17; in Franklin County, the patching of potholes will continue on Interstate 85, lane closures will be in place for that work.
Finally, in Madison County, vegetation trimming will resume in the rights of way on State Route 8/US 29.
Crews in the area will work through today up until Friday, March 14th between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm, as long as weather cooperates.
Motorists traveling through any of these areas are asked to reduce speed, use extra caution, and be alert to changing traffic conditions.
