The Georgia Department of Transportation looks to continue scheduled routine maintenance in Elbert, Franklin, Madison and Hart Counties.

In Elbert County, Georgia DOT crews will fill in cracks in the asphalt on State Route 72; a lane closure will be in place while this work occurs. Another crew will replace raised pavement markers on state routes throughout the county.

In Hart County, driveways along State Routes 77, 51,328, and 17 will be serviced.

Crews in Franklin County will repair and restore the grade of shoulders along State Route 174. The shoulder and one lane will be closed for that work.

And in Madison County, ruts alongside State Route 8 will be repaired, and trimming or removing of vegetation will occur alongside State Routes 17 and 72.

Work should resume today, and will continue through Friday, March 22nd from 7:00am until 5:30pm, as long as weather permits.

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones that they encounter while traveling.
