Georgia DOT Performing Routine Maintenance in Elbert and Surrounding Counties

April 2, 2013

It’s starting to feel a lot more like spring, and the Georgia Department of Transportation is taking full advantage of the nicer weather by continuing routine maintenance in Elbert and surrounding counties.

In Elbert County crews will continue to fill cracks in the asphalt along State Route 72, while at the same time, another crew will resume replacing raised pavement markers along state routes in the county.

Crews in Hart County will service driveways along State Route 17, 8, and 77 Spur. Dead trees and vegetation will also be removed alongside State Route 172.

And in Madison County, a crew will repair the edge ruts that have developed along State Route 281 and 106; a lane closure will be required for that work.

Work takes place all this week beginning at 7:00am and lasting until 5:30pm on Friday April 5th, as long as weather permits.

Motorists are asked to reduce their speed through these and all work zones encountered while traveling.
