Georgia DOT Performing Routine Maintenance in Elbert and Surrounding Counties

March 25, 2013

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces maintenance plans for this week in Elbert, Franklin, Hart, and Madison Counties.

In Elbert County, crews will continue to fill in cracks in the asphalt on State Route 72, while another crew resumes replacing raised pavement markers on state routes throughout the county.

Crews in Franklin County will repair and restore the grade of shoulders alongside State Route 174, while another crew will clean and restore the ditches alongside State Route 198.

In Hart County, driveways along State Routes 17, 51, and 328 will be serviced while dead trees are removed and vegetation is removed in rights of way alongside State Route 172.

Finally, in Madison County, crews will manually clean drainage pipes alongside State Routes 98 and 191.

Work will take place today beginning at 7:00am until 5:30pm up until Friday, March 25th, as long as weather permits.

Lane closures may be required for some of this work, so motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
