The Hart County Sheriff’s office is now offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects responsible for a string of burglaries over the past month.
Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland said his officers continue to investigate at least 10 burglaries that have taken place since mid-October.
“All the investigators’ top priority right now is trying to find a lead in these five burglaries,” Cleveland said. “Most of what they appear to be looking for is jewelry and cash. They will take other stuff, but it seems like they’re going in and heading straight for the bedrooms and grabbing the jewelry boxes.”
As in the cases we reported last month, Cleveland said they suspects are going after smaller items that can be easily taken and easily pawned.
Cleveland said investigators now believe the suspects may also be responsible for burglaries in Elbert County and both law enforcement agencies are offering a reward.
Cleveland said the suspects appear to be going back and forth between Hart County and Elbert County.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact the Hart County Sheriff’s office at 706-376-3114 or the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 283-2421.
