Hartwell Man Arrested after Leaving Vehicle Partially Parked in Roadway

A suspicious vehicle parked in the road over the weekend, leads to the arrest of a Hartwell, GA man.

According to Elbert County Sheriff Melvin Andrews, a deputy was on patrol on Highway 77 North and noticed a vehicle parked partially in the roadway.

Upon checking the vehicle, two occupants were found; one was identified as 28-year-old Dustin Dean Dooley of a Steven B. Tangler Road residence in Hartwell, the other occupant’s identity was not released as they were not charged with anything.

Through further investigation, it was discovered that Dooley had an outstanding warrant with the Elberton Police Department, in addition to the warrant; Dooley was also charged with Possession of Schedule IV Drugs and Drugs to be Kept in Original Container.

Dooley was taken to the Elbert County Detention Center after his arrest, and has since been released on bond.
