Jean Beal Hartley, 75, died July 11, 2013, at her residence in Elberton.
Mrs. Hartley was born June 29, 1938, in Jefferson County, Alabama, and had lived in Georgia for the last 52 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Beal and one granddaughter, Caitlin Hartley.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy C. Hartley; daughters and sons-in-law, Jacque and Marvin Denney, Becky and Ricky Wood, and Jaime and Lee Scott; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Robin Hartley; grandchildren, Joshua Beech, Heather Eaves, Brittany Beech, Ryan Hartley, Ashley Poston, Evan Hartley, Gunnar Hartley, Andrew Wood, and Hannah Wood; great-grandchild, E.J. Hamm; and sisters, Peggy Sanders of Elberton, Pat Forehand of Stapleton, Alabama, and Marian Gardner of Loxley, Alabama.
Memorial services celebrating her life will be held Monday, July 15, at 3:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Watson officiating.
At Mrs. Hartley’s request, her body will be donated to the Medical College of Georgia for medical research.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 140 S. McIntosh Street, Elberton.
