Now officially a certified chapter of the Keep America Beautiful organization, the Keep Elbert County Beautiful chapter will host their first event next weekend.
A recycling “happy hour” will be held to help Elbert County residents get rid of certain items that are usually difficult to recycle.
Elbert County Administrator Bob Thomas goes into detail about what items will be accepted.
“Batteries, electronics, automobile tires (limit four), and paint”, said Thomas. “These are all items that are really hard to get rid of. We hope the community comes out and participates, because these items are ones that are not easy to get rid of.”
For those wanting to drop off tires, some important information to keep in mind is that you have to have a valid Georgia Drivers’ License, and be able to pay a two dollar fee per tire.
This event is open to all Elbert County residents, and will take place on Saturday November 23rd, from 8:00am until 12:00pm at the Elberton Recycling Center located off of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
KECB volunteers will be on hand at the event to help unload your vehicle, and will also provide free soft drinks to all recyclers.
