The Elbert County Board of Commissioners announces that they will be closing Kurt Anderson Road to through traffic on Tuesday, August 28th beginning at 8:00am.
The reason for the closing is to make repairs to the bridge that is close to the intersection of Double Bridges Road. Elbert County Road Superintendent Shannon Teasley describes the work that will be done to the bridge.
“On Tuesday morning we will be tearing out the wood part out on top, and will be replacing it with concrete. The concrete will have to set for a couple of days before we can put traffic back onto the bridge”, said Teasley.
The Commissioners plan on re-opening Kurt Anderson Road on August 30th.
The Commissioners ask that motorists be aware of the construction zone and that they make alternate plans for traveling this road over the next three days.
