Lady Diamond Devils took on the Franklin County Lady Lions yesterday Thursday, September 13 and won 2-0. The Lady Lions were 15-4 coming in and leading the region with a 4-0 record. However, The Lady Devils took care of that and sent the Lady Lions home with their first region loss.
Devyn Terry started pitching and finished with a No-Hitter striking out 12 and only 2 walks. The game would prove to be a true pitchers duel but Terry prevailed to be the more dominate pitcher.
The game was scoreless through the first inning and a half. With runners on first and 3rd for the Lady Devils, Olivia Ruff had the opportunity to advance home from 3rd after second base was stolen. The Lady Lions tried to force the out at second which gave Ruff the opportunity to score.
Going into the 4th inning Terry had 7 strikeouts. In the bottom of the 5th Terry would tack on another run for the Lady Devils with an RBI double that scored Kacie Oakley, and that would be enough for the Devils as a line drive to Amelia Moon would end the game in the 7th and take the Lady Devils to 3-1 in the region and 7-7 overall.
