Lady Devils Move on in State Tournament

The Lady Devils took on the North Murray Lady Mountaineers in the first round of the State Tournament at the Inferno.

The Lady Devils jumped out for to an early lead against the Lady Mountaineers early in the first quarter; however the Lady Mountaineers were able to cut the deficit to two with a 10-8 score. The score in the second quarter would remain close and the teams would go into the half with the Lady Devils up 15-13. Jimera Hill was leading in scoring for the Lady Devils with five points and Bri Moon had three.

The Lady Devils where trailing by four at the end of the third quarter 25-21. It came down to the final minutes for the Lady Devils to try and keep the season alive. The Ladies would make a three to take a one point lead during the fourth. The game would remain close and the teams would battle for the lead to the last second; a steal from Bri Moon would lead to a score that would give the Lady Devils a one point lead and a 35-34 State Playoff victory. Jimera Hill was named Tri-County Technical College Player of the game with twelve points including the winning basket.
