Lady Devils Win, Blue Devils Fall In Franklin County

Your Elbert County Blue Devil Basketball teams travelled to Franklin County for their last game of the regular season.

The Franklin County Lady Lions jumped out to a quick lead early in the first half against the Lady Devils and were hindered again with little offense. The Lady Devils were only able to produce 9 points to the Lady Lions 14 at the half. Cyiarra Hill had 6 of the teams 9 points at the half. The Lady Devils would gain the lead midway through the third quarter and have a 25-18 lead by the end of the quarter. The Lady Devils were able to hang on for a 39-30 win. Cyiarra Hill led the team in scoring with 12 points and Jimera Hill was named Tri-County Technical College Player of the Game with 11.

The Blue Devils came out of the gate struggling as they were down 20-9 at the end of the first quarter. However, the Blue Devils showed up in the second quarter as they held the Lions to only four points and pulled within one with a 24-23 score going into the half. The battle continued coming out of the half for these two teams as the game would be tied at 33 at the end of three quarters. The fourth quarter would be much of the same as the teams kept the score very close. However Elbert would not be able to pull it off and fall to the Lions 53-50. Marc Moon and Terrell Hughes led in scoring for the Devils with 13 points apiece. Marc was named Tri-County Technical College Player of the Game.
