Lane Closures on Interstates and Major State Routes Back in Effect

July 8, 2013

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces that lane closure suspensions that were in effect for the Independence Day travel period are now lifted.

Lane closures went back into effect at 5:00am this morning.

A majority of the closures that were impacted were on Interstates and major state routes across the state.

Motorists who are traveling should reduce speed, use extra caution, and be alert to changing traffic conditions when entering a construction zone.

Those still with travel plans can contact Georgia 511 on any phone for free, real time traffic updates.
