Last Day of Accepting Gifts for Mayor’s Christmas Motorcade

December 12, 2012

The City of Elberton is asking the community to help make Christmas dreams come true for underprivileged individual in Georgia.

The program is the annual Mayor’s Christmas Motorcade, which Elberton Mayor Larry Guest said has been around since the 1950’s.

He says that this is a great opportunity for Elberton residents to make a difference in someone’s life this holiday season.

“It is just a great cause, and we certainly want people and citizens of Elberton to understand that these people are in need”, said Guest. “This may be the only gift that these people get all year long, and it’s mostly adults so that we ask that you drop off mostly adult stuff.”

Those who wish to contribute can bring items to the Elberton Fire Department up until today, as the items will be delivered tomorrow on December 13th.

Items that are in high demand are clothes for children and adults, as well as toiletries such as soaps, toothpaste, shampoo, and hair brushes.

Anyone with questions about what items are needed should contact (706) 213-3105.
