Today is the final day of School Board Appreciation Week in the state of Georgia.
Recognized earlier this week by Elbert County School Superintendent Chuck Bell was the Elbert County School Board.
Bell spoke of the gratitude that he has for all the hard work put in the by the board of education.
“We know the key role that you play in the teaching and learning in our system and the many hours you put in on behalf of the school system and we can’t begin to express how much that means to us”, said Superintendent Bell.
Three Elbert County board members were recognized for eight years of service which included Chairman Ben Baker, Teresa Barnett, and PJo Phelps.
Board member Jeff Burden was honored for six years, and newcomer Keith Harper was recognized for two years of service.
