This week is the final week that Elbert County Voters will have the chance to vote early for the 2012 November General Election.
According to Chief Registrar of Elbert County Charlotte Ward, there were over two hundred and fifty early voters during her office’s Saturday vote. Accounting for that number, there have been just shy of three thousand voters to cast ballots early in Elbert County.
Add in the number of absentee ballots mailed back in, the grand total of early votes in Elbert County is close to 3,330 votes.
Robin Webb with the Registrar’s Office says that early voting is a quick and easy process to participate in.
“They will give us their ID, and we will locate them on our EZ Vote System. We will print them an application that they sign twice, and then they will receive a voter card, and they will actually vote on the machine”, said Webb. “It can be as quick as a ten minute process, and there is only about a thirty second wait to have your application printed.”
Polls are open all this week from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Anyone with questions about early voting can contact the Elbert County Registrar’s Office at (706) 283-2012, or can stop by their location inside the Elbert County Government Complex.
