Little League Opening Ceremonies Hoping for No Rain Tomorrow

As Elbert County’s little leaguers get ready to start their baseball or softball seasons, many are hoping that Mother Nature won’t put a damper on tomorrow’s opening day ceremony.

Currently the weather forecast for Saturday is showing a sixty percent chance of rain for a majority of the day with temperatures approaching the high fifties.

The opening day ceremonies and festivities are scheduled to begin at 10:00am Saturday morning out at McWilliams Park.

According to Little League President Kevin Dye, it is going to take a lot of rain, if it falls, to force a cancellation of opening day.

He did say however, that if a decision to cancel the ceremonies were to be made, that it would be decided up until the last minute.

Should tomorrow’s opening day ceremony indeed be cancelled, there are no plans for it to be made up.

Also, if you can’t make it out to the park, then be sure to tune into 105.3 WSGC from 10:00am for the broadcast of the opening ceremony, until 2:00pm that afternoon, as we will be broadcasting all the sights and sounds of the festivities.
