Main Street Elberton has announced a new event, set to take place before the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce’s annual fall festival.
The event is a Pumpkin Festival, which as you guessed it, focuses almost exclusively on pumpkins.
“We’ll have things like pumpkin pie eating contests, face painting, pumpkin painting, pumpkin carving, hay rides, and story telling”, said Director of Community Affairs for the City of Elberton Tiffany Gibbons. “There is just a lot of fun stuff to look forward to in October.”
The event will be hosted on the downtown square in Elberton, and is the second Main Street event planned for October, the first being the October 5th movie festival at the Elbert Theatre.
The Pumpkin Festival will take place on Thursday October 24th beginning at 4:00pm and will last until just after 6:30pm.
There is no admission cost to attend the event; however those wanting to try their luck in the pie eating contest will have to pay an entry fee.
