It has been a week full of tragedy in Elbert County, as another person is dead after a fatal motor vehicle accident.

Elbert County EMS Director Chuck Almond says Elbert County 9-1-1 received a call on Wednesday, May 21st of a vehicle accident on the Bowman Highway near Faith Baptist Church.

Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that one person had been ejected from a pick-up truck, which had overturned.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Brandon Fullbright of a Bowman, GA address, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained during the accident.

Almond says Fullbright’s vehicle left the road unexpectedly.

“All indications are that Mr. Fullbright was traveling south on Bowman Highway, and for whatever reason ran off the roadway and struck a tree”, said Almond. “The striking of the tree is what caused the vehicle to overturn, which led to Fullbright being ejected.”

According to Almond, the pick-up truck Fullbright was driving caught fire after the accident.

The accident investigation has been turned over to the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol.
