The new school year in Elbert County is quickly approaching and another community group will be helping students and families out when it comes to school supplies.

Coming up this Saturday, Firehouse Church will be holding a “Back to School Bash”.

Lead Pastor of the Church Jonathon Crider explains what all will be going on at the event.

“We’re going to be giving away free haircuts and we are going to be giving away free needed supplies for K-5th grades”, said Crider. “We are also going to have free hotdogs, free drinks, and we are just showing everyone that Jesus loves them, and we want to take some of the burden off of the parents from buying the supplies.”

He says they have enough supplies for roughly one hundred kids, and also stresses that the kids have to be present to receive any supplies.

The bash will start at 10:00am Saturday morning, and will continue until all supplies are given away.

Firehouse Church is located in the old Elbert County unemployment office, off of Seaboard Street.
