Municipal Election Ballots Set for November Elections

September 4, 2013

The ballots are set for the upcoming municipal elections in Elbert County.

In the city of Elberton, it’s expected to be a quiet election, with only one race being contested, and that is for Ward 5.

Ward 5 Incumbent Joel Seymour will face off against challenger Mart Clamp in November.

A total of four spots, including Ward 5 are up for grabs, Mayor Larry Guest, Ward 1 Councilmember Carey Butler, and Rick Prince, running for Ward 4’s seat are all facing no opposition for their respective seats.

In Bowman, it’s a carbon copy, as three council seats and the Mayor’s seat are up for election.

Qualifying for the council races are Incumbent Betty Jo Maxwell, Calvin Wade Bridges, Scott Harpold, Rachel Felice, and Marion Ann Herring.

As the city of Bowman does not have wards or districts, the top three popular vote finishers will win the three seats up for grabs.

The race for Bowman Mayor is a two horse race between Incumbent Pamela Johnson, and current Bowman City Councilman Pete Gibbons.

Election Day is slated for Tuesday, November 5th.
