NE GA Dodges Winter Storm Bullet

So the big snow didn’t come to north Georgia last night. Forecasters say the moisture squeezed out just in time to miss the freezing temperatures. The only trouble overnight was the occasional patch of black ice. Teri Pope with the Georgia DOT has no complaints.

“It has been a mild winter by the fact we are in mid-January before we are even really talking winter weather events, so that’s another thing to be thankful for”, said Pope.

The threat of bad weather delayed the start of school this morning in some counties. However, Elbert and surrounding counties are operating at regular hours.

Now that this storm front has moved out, we will have a few days of sunshine, and will dry out a bit.
