The Elbert County Board of Education held their monthly work session last night.

A new drug policy is being discussed for the high school. The policy includes random but confidential drug testing; the drug tests will be to provide avenues of help towards the students that do come out positive and to keep schools and students safe.

No decisions have been made as last night’s discussion was only a work session.

CRCT scores for the middle school have increased since last school year by a 94% in the reading area and have also increased throughout the academic classes.

Other matters discussed, Elbert County High School will start selling parking permits starting July 25th for Rising Seniors at a first come first serve basis.
