It’s a new day, a new month, and it’s the first day of a new emergency department staff at Elbert Memorial Hospital.
Beginning today, a new professional physician services group will begin serving in Elbert Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department.
HospitalMD will provide emergency medicine in the ER as well as fulfill hospitalist duties.
With this change, says Elbert Memorial CEO Jim Yarborough, comes brand new doctors to the ER.
“We’ll be transitioning to all new doctors in the emergency department. They will be offering a limited hospitalist service to any patient that does not have an established relationship with our local medical center group”, explained Yarborough.
Yarborough says the hospital is looking forward to working with HospitalMD.
“So we are excited about this change, we think it is going to be a good change for our hospital, and we think it is going to be a good change for our community”, expressed Yarborough.
HospitalMD takes over from EmCare, who had been the ER service provider at Elbert Memorial since 2002.
Yarborough says bringing on HospitalMD represents a significant Hospital Authority Board and EMH Medical Staff initiative to improve overall quality improvement and outcomes at Elbert Memorial.
