One More Show of Support for 214th as they Depart Tomorrow

February 25, 2013

Tomorrow is the day that the 214th will depart Elberton to head down to Mississippi before heading to Afghanistan.

The troops will leave the armory at 8:00am Tuesday morning, and will head down the four lane. Main Street Director Sissie Herring asks for one more strong show of support for our troops.

“If we could all line the streets of what we know as the four lane at 8:00am the morning as the troops head to Mississippi”, said Herring. “Llets show this unit that we love them just like we did at our send off ceremony on February 15th.

Herring says it’s a tough time to make, but it would be worth it to our troops.

“If you have a flag or sign bring it. If you have someone in this unit you are supporting please show up. I know this is a hard time to make, but if we can send these guys off with a good show of support, that would be awesome”, said Herring.

The 214th Artillery Division is headed to Mississippi for training before being deployed to Afghanistan for a nine to twelve month deployment.
